Tricia Canavan, President/Owner of United Personnel 

Canavan manages daily operations, strategic planning, marketing and community engagement initiatives for United Personnel's Massachusetts and Connecticut locations. United Personnel has received numerous awards including the Commonwealth Institute/Boston Globe Magazine Top 100 Woman-Led Businesses in MA; several Chamber of Commerce awards, including Small Business of the Year and, Springfield Regional Chamber's Super 60 Award winner and, the 2017 Richard J. Moriarty Citizen of the Year Award.
 

Previously Canavan served as the Executive Director of the Springfield Public Forum, one of the nation's longest-running public lecture series. In addition to non-profit management, Canavan has held various human resources and education positions throughout her career, including serving as Director of Human resources at Signature Inc.in Dublin, Ohio and as a faculty member at Berkshire Community College.

Canavan is a member of several Boards of Directors, including Associated Industries of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts State Workforce Development Board, the Economic Development Council of Western Mass, Baystate Health Foundation, the Springfield Regional Chamber, the Holyoke Chamber Foundation, and the Springfield Public Forum. She also serves as co-chair of Springfield Business Leaders for Education and represents United Personnel as a Core Partner in Springfield's Working Cities Initiative, which recently received a Federal Reserve grant focusing on workforce development innovation.
